Recycling isn’t just something we do – it’s part of who we are. At Joh. Sieben, we’re turning waste into fresh possibilities every day.
We’re dedicated to using more recycled materials in our packaging production, including both post-consumer and post-industrial plastic. All production waste, including what’s generated during machine start-up and shutdown, is collected and given a second life.
Within the AST Packaging Group, we shred and clean this material using a specialised extruder with a filter, transforming it into fresh granulate that goes straight back into production – a smart, sustainable loop that keeps resources in use.
We already produce items made entirely from recycled materials and continue to push forward in our commitment to the circular economy. Every step helps make our production that bit greener and more efficient.

Sustainability is always front and centre when developing new products – including polymers made from renewable resources such as sugarcane, sugar beet, or maize. We’ve already carried out reproducible production tests using bio-based I’m Green™ HDPE from Braskem, produced entirely from sugarcane.
And we’re not stopping there – we’re excited to explore next-generation materials created through chemical recycling. The future is green, and we’re right in the middle of it!
